Odisha Shines at PM Mementoes e-Auction 2025

Bhubaneswar: The ongoing PM Mementoes e-Auction 2025 is showcasing Odisha's vibrant culture with 21 distinctive artifacts that highlight the state's exceptional textile artistry, mythological themes, and metal craftsmanship.

Running until October 2, this e-auction invites participants from across the country to bid on memorabilia gifted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The funds raised will contribute to the Namami Gange Project, aimed at the conservation and revitalization of the River Ganga.

Among the standout items from Odisha are the stunning Pattachitra paintings, renowned for their detailed designs, vivid natural hues, and rich mythological stories.

These artworks, created on traditional canvases and palm leaves, depict legendary figures such as Lord Krishna, Radha, and Lord Ganesh, showcasing the state's long-standing artistic traditions and narrative styles.

Each artwork not only demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship but also reflects the cultural and spiritual values of Odisha, preserving a legacy handed down through generations of artisans.

Another remarkable piece is the Silver Peacock Memento, which exemplifies Odisha's exquisite filigree artistry.

This item symbolizes national pride while highlighting the state's remarkable skills in this intricate craft. Additionally, the Tussar Silk Painting of Navagunjara, illustrating the mythical nine-animal form of Lord Krishna, stands out.

This artwork beautifully intertwines mythology, wildlife, and textile art, showcasing Odisha's unique talent for blending spiritual themes with artistic creativity. Both pieces underscore the state's rich cultural heritage and its commitment to excellence in craftsmanship and storytelling.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and held at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, the PM Mementoes e-Auction 2025 features over 1,300 items, including paintings, handicrafts, tribal art, sports memorabilia, and ceremonial gifts presented to the Prime Minister.

Since its launch in 2019, this auction has created a platform for public interaction with India's national heritage while supporting vital environmental and cultural projects like the Namami Gange initiative.
